Tomorrowland will officially debut its winter edition at the Alpe d’Huez ski resort in the French Alps from March 9th through March 16 in 2019. The ski resort will be transformed into ‘Tomorrowland Winter’ where it will be welcoming 30,000 attendees from around the globe. The theme of the inaugural festival will be ‘The Hymn of the frozen Lotus.’ The Alpe d’Huez is referred to as the ‘Island in the Sun’ since it receives 300 days of sunshine each year.
“With a total of 250km trails, 300 days of sun per year, a lift that climbs to an altitude of 3,300m and offers a unique panoramic view of over 1/5 of France, plus recognition as the ‘Best ski resort in Europe 2017’, and ranking in the Top 3 best European resorts since 2015… Just like Tomorrowland, the Alpe d’Huez ski area is also ‘larger-than-life.” – Christophe Monier, general manager of SATA nv (Societé d’Amenagement Touristique de l’Alpe d’Huez et des Grandes Rousses).
The Alpe d’Huez Grand Domain Ski area will be reserved solely for Tomorrowland Winter ticket holders. Tomorrowland Winter will host numerous stages including the Main Stage, which will be built specially for the event and located at the foot of the ski trails. Guests can expect to see DJs and have a unique array of drinks as well as food at unexpected locations. 4-day or 7-day tickets will be available for purchase that includes access to the festival, accommodation, and a lift/ski-pass.
“This edition of Tomorrowland was created by our own dedicated young team in Antwerp and we will be 100% in control of its execution. We couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate our 15th anniversary with the People of Tomorrow and we just can’t wait to welcome them to this enchanting, winter wonderland.” – Michiel Beers, creator and organizer of Tomorrowland. An interesting side note is that the LiveStyle team has no involvement in Tomorrowland Winter.
